Not strictly speaking an ESD resource. But in view of the carbon emissions and environmental impact (negative and positive) of the construction sector it seems worthwhile to highlight the Open Doors initiative.
Open Doors, delivered by Build UK, takes visitors behind the scenes to showcase the fantastic range of careers available in the UK construction industry. This year it is taking place from Monday 23 – Saturday 28 March 2026.
Build UK is still working hard to secure more events for Open Doors 2026. At last look there were three events in the South East with reasonable availability:
- National Construction College, Erith
- Thames Valley Police Forensic Investigation Unit, Bicester
- New Head Protection Standard – Meet the Manufacturer Day, Witney
